From the 29th to the 31st May, Menorca will play host to the I Women’s Challenge Tour.

Thanks to the initiative of the Cycle-tourist Association of Menorca and the aid of not only the local island authorities but also private institutions, who firmly support the organization of an international sports event of this standing, Menorca will witness the first edition of this Challenge Tour of Menorca; an event which undoubtedly will become a major reference point of the Women’s national and international competitive calendar.

The excellent repercussion that cycling, albeit cycle-tourism or competition, has on the tourist industry is undeniable; allowing both enthusiasts and professionals alike to discover the hidden corners and spectacular landscape of a myriad of natural paradises, such as Menorca; an island trapped in time, bursting with natural beauty and charm.

The organization of a Women’s elite trial here in the Balearic Islands has been on the agenda for many years; a pending project which in spite of the complications experienced by the cycling collective today, is now finally a reality.

The finest teams from countries including Spain, Austria, Belgium, France, Great Britain, Germany, Italy, Lithuania, Holland, Norway, South Africa, China, Russia and Switzerland have been officially invited to participate in this first edition of the Women’s Challenge Tour of Menorca and as such we expect to witness the participation of some of the finest figures of this discipline.

Throughout the organization of this first edition, the Association of Cycle-tourists of Menorca, promoters of this initiative, has counted on the support and coordination services of Unisport Consulting, a company specializing in the organization of sports events and in particular cycling, hence ensuring both the professional and organizational success of what will prove to be an unforgettable experience.
